Welcome to Oshwals AU

Oshwals have been in Australia for more than 30 years; Canberra is the capital of this country while Sydney and Melbourne are the principal commercial centres. The potential for Perth as a preferred destination has increased with the improved economic conditions under-written by the mining boom in Western Australia. Demographic trends suggest that the likely future destination of our people from a host of countries would be Australia. Oshwals, their very nature being forward-looking, and steeped in self-reliance, have always looked at economic opportunities across their present locations.

The shores of Australia provide an idealistic blend of scenarios that our people, particularly the younger generation, would look to for establishing a base for their future: upward economic mobility, supported by excellent academic and employment prospects, a favourable temperate climate, variety and diversity of activities and a sustained and reliable governance, social welfare, transport and communication infrastructure. By living in the capital cities of the individual states that make up the federal Commonwealth of Australia, the future generations would be close to the centre of decision-making in their corporate environments.

We believe the only missing link is the cultural and communal bonding that would be provided by a thriving active community life. In this respect it is not that there are not enough members or that community inter-action is lacking; just that there is no central database which would provide the "comfort" in numbers that is so essential to a communal mind-set that we have acclamatised ourselves to over the past 100-150 years having lived in India, East Africa, the UK, USA and Canada; that community spirit is very much present in the members here who have already achieved success in their respective professional and business fields.

With this in mind, we plan to actively promote Australia, as a preferred destination armed with a website which will provide a communication link and a directory that would enumerate the relevant information.
